Not everyone is the same, some people are able to accept the reality of the loss. and carry themselves well.
Others struggle to accept the reality of the loss, and that can make each day feel as though they’re living between knowing the truth and not being able to believe it.
Not everyone’s way of grieving is the same. Every person has a different relationship with the person they have lost.
There is no right way to grieve, and there is no wrong way to grieve either. Everyone has the right to process it the way they want to and feel comfortable.
They will process it in their own time.
There is no switch that you can turn on and off when you feel ike it.
Crying the 1 time and letting it all out doesn’t mean you have finished grieving and you can go back to normal life again.
Then again crying for a whole week or month doesn’t mean you have grieved either.
Clearing out all the persons clothes and valuables doesn’t mean you have grieved.
Informing authorities and closing down personal accounts doesn’t mean you have grieved.
You don’t “finish” grieving. Grief changes over time, but love doesn’t disappear simply because time has passed.
The moment the person passes, a lot of things change, there are things that will never be the same again for the rest of their lives.
Grief can unexpectedly resurface during significant dates like birthdays, Father’s Day, Valentine’s Day, marriage anniversaries and death anniversaries. It might be a fleeting moment or a full-blown wave of emotion, as if it all happened just yesterday.
People often mistake someone smiling, laughing, or going back to work as a sign that they’ve “moved on.” What they don’t see is that grief doesn’t disappear during those moments. It simply sits quietly in the background until something reminds you of the person you love.
Grief doesn’t follow a calendar. It doesn’t ask permission, and it doesn’t care where you are. It can find you in the supermarket, in your car, at a family celebration, or in the middle of an ordinary Tuesday afternoon. There is no timeline, no pattern, and no finish line.
